KITTY NORTH IS A PAINTER OF PEOPLE AND PLACES

"Continuum" the latest exhibition by North is on show now at Salts Mill (Gallery 2) until 14th April 2024. Sixteen 6ft x 5ft oil paintings are at the heart of this new exhibition. Powerful and imposing yet intimate and inviting too, these canvasses are inspired by the rural Yorkshire landscape in which North lives and works. Salts Mill is open Weds-Sun 10am-5pm.

Buildings in the Landscape is a new exhibition in The Atrium at Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa in Windermere. It runs until 24th April 2024 and is open for viewing throughout the day from 11am to 5pm.

Further paintings of Kitty's can also be viewed at The Devonshire Fell in Burnsall and The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa at Bolton Abbey.

Kitty lives and works at Arncliffe, deep in the Yorkshire Dales. At the age of 12, whilst painting a view of Ingleborough from a window in her home, North realised she would spend her life being an artist. In 1980 she plunged into London, attending Chelsea School of Art, followed by further study in Brighton and Manchester.

Kitty North's work has been widely exhibited and collected around the world. Recent years have been full of many different projects across the UK, including multi-part works for Salts Mill, Chatsworth House and Bolton Abbey.

Prospect Gallery in Arncliffe (near Skipton) and newly refurbished Art House (recently featured in The Times) are open on select days and by appointment.
